GoGCM

This page will give a brief description of the GoGCM project and will have links to help describe the project and how to contribute. GoGCM is an Open Source General Circulation Model (GCM) written in the Go Programming Language. This blog will be used as a discussion point in order to help design this model. For a general introduction to the project see the post Introducing GoGCM.

The post Introducing Go describes the Go Programming Language and where to get more information about it. As well, there are a few links on the side of the blog that provide good resources about this language.

In Evaluating Success, I describe how this project will proceed and how it will be compared to current GCM's. I have also added a few GCM websites to the links at the side as well.

Finally, the post titled "Re" Introducing GoGCM describes how I have set up the project repository and the steps required to install the latest version. These steps will likely need to be updated as new parts are added to the repository, however you should always check here for the latest information.

If you would like to contribute, you can do so in many ways. I will need many people to become involved in this project for it to be successful. The first way is to join in the discussion that I hope to foster with the different technical threads. The second way is to learn Go and help by coding parts of the code. I'll likely have a page describing what tasks need to be worked on so that coders can coordinate what is being worked on. I'll also try to set up a system for code review to happen (actually if you have suggestions on how to do this let me know). Lastly, if you want to be a leader in any of these efforts, just let me know. I'm going to need other people posting technical topics and leading the design efforts. My email is bloggingarrow@gmail.com. Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions.
